ANTARCTICA - ALASKA
Tierra del Fuego, Argentina
What an accomplishment for Guenther
von Plueschow flying in this rugged
strong wind region with a
1926 technology seaplane, where
disaster can strike from two sides.

Gale to hurricane force winds turn up in
the Drake passage statistically every  3
weeks.
In combination with those sharp edged
mountains of Tierra del fuego the
turbulences exceeds every imagination.
From the viewpoint of a former hang
glider pilot it must be said, that a wing of
Plueschow's plane broke off was a
question of time.
